Jorge Ramírez García, PhD

Associate Research Professor, Prevention Science Institute

Jorge’s career objective is to advance population health outcomes and health equity through the implementation of interventions that are 1) aligned with culturally and linguistically appropriate standards, and 2) of high quality and scalable to population levels. The aims of Jorge’s research are to eliminate disparities and inequities in 1) clinical and social functioning outcomes among individuals with psychosis such as those diagnosed with schizophrenia, and 2) across behavioral and physical population health outcomes. To eliminate the gap between health care research findings and routine health care practices, Jorge uses implementation science approaches to promote the adoption and sustainability of evidence-based health care in service delivery systems. To advance our understanding of the processes that produce health disparities and inequities, Jorge conducts research with Social Determinants of Health frameworks that are specifically designed for the study of health disparities across underserved populations.
