Mariah Kornbluh, PhD, is an Associate Professor whose work sits at the intersection of prevention science, youth development, and educational equity. Her research focuses on how schools and community contexts shape adolescents’ mental health, belonging, and civic engagement, particularly for structurally marginalized youth. Kornbluh uses Youth Participatory Action Research as a core method to elevate young people’s voices and strengthen the implementation of evidence-based practices in real-world settings. By partnering directly with youth, educators, and community stakeholders, her work translates research into practical strategies that foster resilience and more inclusive school environments. Her scholarship has been supported by the William T. Grant Foundation, the Spencer Foundation, and the John Templeton Foundation. Through collaborative and community-engaged approaches, she aims to advance prevention efforts that promote equitable and positive developmental outcomes.
