November 1, 2024 – Whether in schools, healthcare, or in the home, UO's Prevention Science Institute (PSI) helps individuals and communities enact lasting behavioral change to prevent some of the most important problems we face in society. October 25, 2024 – UO’s research enterprise grew in fiscal year 2023-24 across all disciplines with $178 million in new awards. 35% of federal funding came from the Department of Education, and faculty in the College of Education received high-impact awards including $24.5 million in funding renewals.

In a new research brief authored by Lorry Lokey Chair in Education Leslie Leve, the National Scientific Council on Adolescence (NSCA) provides research-based recommendations for educators to promote positive mental health in their classrooms.

July 16, 2024 – To help educators create an environment of inclusivity and acceptance for LGBTQ+ students, the University of Oregon’s HEDCO Institute created a quick summary of five evidence-supported strategies for schools. Elizabeth Day, PhD, a research assistant professor, worked on the summary.
July 15, 2024 – A workshop developed by UO researchers shows promise in reducing bias against people with larger bodies in the workplace, according to a new study. Professor Nichole Kelly, first author and Evergreen Associate Professor in counseling psychology and human services was involved in the study.
July 15, 2024 – Sara Schmitt, Bricker/Squires Faculty Chair in Early Intervention and Associate Professor in the College of Education, has been awarded a $4 million grant from the Institute of Education Sciences to evaluate the Early Learning Matters curriculum. The grant supports a multi-state project involving seven universities to address disparities in access to high-quality early childhood education.
